Dr. Dennis Mangano was the lead author of a 2006 Trasylol side effects study published in the New England Journal of Medicine. In reaction to the study, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an advisory to medical professionals. The FDA advised doctors to carefully weigh the risks and benefits of Trasylol before administering it to a patient in an aprotinin injection.
